Xbox Unveils Overhaul to Achievements for Insiders, Broader Rollout In The Works

Getting a notification about an unlocked Achievement on our Xbox (or a trophy if you’re on PlayStation) is always a nice little thrill, and it never gets old, no matter how many years go by.

The folks over at Xbox probably felt the same way, but it’s not afraid to change things up in this new era. It’s rolling out an overhaul to select Xbox Insiders, which overhauls how their consoles handle Achievements. Aside from a visual overhaul that now comes with special animations for rarer Achievements and the ability to match your custom colors, there’s also more control over how your achievements are presented.

You can hide specific games, and unlocking all Achievements for a title will let you highlight it. We’re wondering why it hasn’t been that way for so long, but better late than never.

There are a few other tweaks, but the good news is that it’s gradually rolling out to all Xbox players worldwide. Although an official schedule isn’t available at the moment, we’re hoping that this is a part of the brand’s effort to bring the console back to what it does best in the near future. You can check out the official announcement in its entirety here.
