  • Get the fuse (Grace)
  • Escape the Rehabilitation Ward (Leon)

The second part of our Resident Evil Requiem walkthrough picks up after Grace’s troubles at the Wrenwood Hotel and Leon’s fight in the zombie-ridden streets. Grace wakes up in a hospital — but not a very pleasant one. With no doctors or nurses in sight, it seems to be abandoned… To escape this part of the Rhodes Hill Chronic Care Center, Grace must find hidden items and, above all, tread very carefully.

However, before you start, it’s important to note that this walkthrough will tell you how to complete Resident Evil Requiem on casual and standard (modern and classic) difficulties.

Here’s how to complete the second part of Resident Evil Requiem: Get the fuse in the Chronic Care Center.

[Ed. note: This guide contains spoilers for Resident Evil Requiem, so continue at your own risk! Feel free to follow along or bookmark this page and come back if you get stuck.]

Get the fuse (Grace)

After waking up at the hospital, Room 203 at the Rhodes Hill Chronic Care Center, to be precise, head into the hallway. To expand your file collection, be sure to grab the progress notes from the dresser first. Turn right, passing the red light. Continue past the horse statue, and at the end of the path, open the drawer next to the lounge chair to find a cherub key.

Head back and use the cherub key to open Room 201.

Inside, you’ll find a typewriter, which you may use to save your game. There’s also an empty glass bottle (throwable) in the closet and a lighter in the dark nook, over here:

Leave Room 201 and turn left. Optionally, you can make a stop in Room 202 to find a file in the closet (note on cardboard box) and a hint on where to find the screwdriver (use your lighter to illuminate your surroundings). You can also look at the children’s book to get a hint on how to defeat a certain kind of monster.

When the path splits in two, instead of Room 203, head right into the dark corridor. Be sure to grab the empty glass bottle on the floor before opening the door.

As soon as the cutscene ends, you’ll be chased by a massive zombie called The Girl. As this monster can’t stand the light, run to Room 203, across the hallway. While any bright room would offer safety, The Girl will crawl through the roof if you try to reach Room 201 (see picture below, left side), so it’s best to go to Room 203 this time.

Once The Girl is gone, return to the Nurse’s Station (where The Girl first appeared). On the floor, in a pile of blood, find a med injector (healing item). Around the corner to the right, you’ll see a cart blocking a closet. There’s a green herb inside that closet, but beware that moving the cart will alert The Girl, so be sure to hide.

A good way to avoid The Girl is to hide beneath the table by the red light and run toward Room 201 (she’ll crawl through the roof if you pick Room 203) as soon as she’s behind you.

Return to the Nurse’s Station once again. See the red toolbox on the high shelf? This is where you’ll find the screwdriver. Move the cart to the shelf and climb on it to reach the toolbox — this time, moving the cart won’t alert the monster.

Note that it is possible to move the cart, grab the green herb, and collect the screwdriver in one go, but you’d have to be very quick, so on your first Resident Evil Requiem playthrough, it’s wiser to shake off The Girl before returning for the screwdriver. It doesn’t seem possible to move the cart without alerting The Girl, though you’re welcome to try!

With the screwdriver in your pocket, you must return to Room 201, but unfortunately, The Girl will be patrolling the hallway. We’ve encountered different scenarios at this point, so here’s what you should do depending on the situation:

  • If she broke through the blocked door to the Nurse’s Station (see picture below, left side), you can let her follow you as you make your way back through the Nurse’s Station, then exit through the broken doorway while The Girl is behind you.
  • If the door is still in place, turn off the lights in Room 203, then lure The Girl into this room — rely on your lighter to see where you’re going. In Room 203, circle around the lounge chair (make sure The Girl follows close behind) and run to Room 201. If the lights are still working, you can turn them on in Room 203 to stagger The Girl (see picture below, right side), though this doesn’t kill her.

In Room 201, use the screwdriver to get the fuse from the walk-in closet, then run toward the exit as fast as you can.

You must leave Room 201 and head right, past the horse statue, and jam the fuse into the door mechanism.

Escape the Rehabilitation Ward (Leon)

Following a cutscene, the game will switch to Leon, who’s taken to a Rehabilitation Ward. His task is straightforward: Kill the zombies. They will drop more handgun ammo upon defeat, but you can also use the chainsaw once a zombie has dropped it. Wait until it stops spinning before you grab it, though.

In the southeast corner, break the crate for a green herb and destroy the glass on the white cabinet for extra handgun ammo. In the southwest corner, there’s a mixed herb healing potion.

Use the chainsaw to break through the bolted door on the south side.

If you’d like to collect (or rather break) Mr. Raccoon statues, you can find the first one in this hallway, on the hearth in the southwest corner.
