Resident Evil – Code: Veronica Remake Announcement Coming Next Year, Targeting 2027 Launch – Rumor

Doubtless shouting “And the truth shall set you free!” after Leon appeared in Resident Evil Requiem, leaker AestheticGamer, aka Dusk Golem, has some updates on the rumored Resident Evil – Code: Veronica Remake. It’s allegedly being announced next year with a release planned for 2027.

Previously, it was unknown whether it would launch in 2027 or 2028, and he was unsure whether Resident Evil Zero Remake was coming first. The latter is reportedly out in 2028, so an announcement in 2027 certainly seems possible, though he will “keep you posted if I hear differently.”

And if you’re sad about the lack of Claire Redfield in Resident Evil Requiem (thus far), don’t worry – she’s allegedly “being treated as the main character” in Code: Veronica Remake. “Chris isn’t getting sidelined, or anything,” he said.

“Capcom realizes this is ‘RE Engine Remake Deput’, but it’s still very much Claire’s game.” Apparently, the “attitude” for Code: Veronica Remake is to “build upon this,” though we don’t know what that will mean.

In the meantime, Resident Evil Requiem will launch on February 27th, 2026, for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2, with a deeper dive coming early next year. After revealing Leon at long last, Capcom confirmed that he and Grace have about the same amount of playable sections, with the story intertwining their fates similar to Resident Evil: Revelations.

What I’ve heard is Resident Evil: Code Veronica Remake should be announced next year, and release in 2027, then Zero Remake releasing the following year in 2028. I’ll keep you posted if I hear differently.

For now though, Requiem hype time! RE9 is 2 & a half months away! https://t.co/PszDJuYciC

Oh well I think Claire fans will be happy since Claire is being treated as the main character. Chris isn’t getting sidelined or anything, Capcom realizes this is “RE Engine Remake Deput”, but it’s still very much Claire’s game. And their attitude for CVR has been to build upon it
