Pimax introduced Dream Air final December, aiming to tackle the rising phase of compact high-end PC VR headsets, resembling Bigscreen Past and Shiftall MaganeX Superlight 8K. Initially deliberate for launch in Might, the headset was delayed till Q3 2025. As we head into the tail-end of Q3, Pimax says it has reached “a number of thrilling milestones” for the headset, and guarantees a considerable replace earlier than the tip of September.

In a publish on the corporate’s weblog final week, Pimax mentioned it’s planning a “detailed presentation” with updates on the event of the Dream Air and Dream Air SE (a less expensive variant). It’s unclear if the corporate can have a last launch date for the headsets or supply an additional delay.

The product pages for the Dream headsets nonetheless say they’ll “Begin transport [in] Q3 2025.” Pimax has been taking pre-orders for Dream Air since its announcement in December 2024, and Dream Air SE since its announcement in Might.

Pimax has attributed the ‘Might’ to ‘Q3’ delay of Dream Air to points getting its arms on Sony’s high-end micro-OLED panels which have a 13.6MP (3,840 × 3,552) per-eye decision. They’re purportedly the identical panels utilized in Apple’s Imaginative and prescient Professional headset.

Nonetheless, Dream Air SE, the inexpensive variant of the headset, makes use of 6.5MP (2,560 × 2,560) per-eye shows. It’s unclear if these shows are any simpler for the corporate to supply. In that case, we may see the Dream Air SE (which was introduced months after the higher-end Dream Air) ship forward of its costlier sibling.
