Marathon, the upcoming extraction shooter from Bungie, has a new gameplay trailer. More importantly, it also has a firm release date now: Thursday, 5 March. Pre-orders are available now through PS5, Xbox Series X, and Steam, and you can check out the trailer below:

The trailer shows off some of the weapons you’ll find on Tau Ceti IV, the lost colony you’ll be scavenging as a runner, defending against hostile security forces, other runners, and more. We also get to see an exciting array of gadgets, including a grappling hook that can seemingly latch onto nothing, and an enormous shield, great for tight spaces.

Marathon was originally scheduled for release in September 2025. But after an underwhelming response to alpha playtests, Bungie delayed it indefinitely, eventually settling on a March 2026 release window. That’s now confirmed.

Alongside the release date announcement, the English voice cast has been revealed, with highlights including Roger Clark (Red Dead Redemption 2, Back 4 Blood), Samantha Béart (Baldur’s Gate 3, Dying Light: The Beast), Ben Starr (Final Fantasy 16, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33), and Elias Toufexis (Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey), among others.

Last but not least, the Marathon Collector’s Edition has been revealed. Alongside everything included in the standard and deluxe editions, it comes with the following:

  • 1/6th scale Thief Runner shell statue with LED lights
  • Collectible WEAVEworm miniature
  • Iron-on embroidered patch
  • Six art postcards
  • Premium hexagon packaging with lenticular poster
  • Beautifully designed display box featuring environmental art

Only available direct from the Bungie store, the Collector’s Edition will set you back a princely $230. You can learn more about Marathon in our December 2025 article that details Bungie’s deep dive video, which also includes plenty of tasty-looking screenshots.
