For not quite a year now, we’ve had our eye on Astrobotanica, a “science-driven” co-op survivalbox from Polish developer Space Goblin Studio. The game is super pretty, secured the backing of players with a $63,000 haul on Kickstarter, and was gearing up for an early access launch on February 16th. Why, that would be… today.
“Today’s Early Access launch includes all core game systems, including botany, crafting, base building, exploration and puzzle-solving,” the studio says in its announcement. “Players can encounter and befriend primal humans, heal their ailments using custom-made tonics, and earn their trust to unlock tools and building resources. With science-led progression and the freedom to play at your own pace, ASTROBOTANICA offers a relaxed kind of survival experience built around curiosity, experimentation and reward.”
The game is on Steam for $19.99 with a 15% discount on top, and you’re going to notice right off that the game is listed as a single-player title. That’s because co-op – a “key milestone,” according to the Kickstarter – will be introduced during the early access. In fact, just a few days ago, Space Goblin confirmed in Discord that co-op is indeed coming during early access, though we don’t actually see it on the 2026 roadmap. Hunker down for a wait if you, like we, are here for multiplayer.
