Finding a good microphone for gaming and streaming at a reasonable price can be a battle unto itself, even when it’s a Black Friday weekend. The best gaming microphone on our buyers’ guide can easily set you back more than $100 if you want all the bells and whistles, but this Razer gaming microphone deal can set you up with a compact yet powerful mic for less than $40.
The Razer Seiren V3 Mini might not have as many features as its more powerful and more expensive sibling, the Razer Seiren V3 Chroma, but it still packs a supercardioid condenser mic to reduce background noise and features a shock mount to nullify anything it might pick up from your desk: heavy typing, mouse movements, spilled drinks, pouncing cats, that sort of thing.
The Seiren V3 Mini also has the advantage of being more plug-and-play out of the box, which is why you don’t see the multi-function dial that sits on the V3 Chroma. You can still customize the V3 Mini via the Razer Synapse app if you want to alter the mic’s bit sampling rates, but it definitely doesn’t have the same RGB customization you’ll find on the V3 Chroma.
While all that might make it sound like the Seiren V3 Mini is inferior to the V3 Chroma, the V3 Mini is a great starting microphone for gamers, budding content creators, and streamers. Its strength lies in its compact form and lower price tag. Plus, the tap-to-mute function and clear LED status indicator on the front should stop you from any accidental slips if you find your teammates in a game like Deep Rock Galactic aren’t as cooperative as you’d hoped – just saying “Rock and Stone” and “We’re rich” endlessly doesn’t always help on Hazard Five.
The V3 Mini comes in at only $35.99 in Black or Quartz Pink this Black Friday, reduced from $59.99 if you visit this link here. However, if you want all of the premium features that the V3 Chroma offers and find out why we gave it a 9/10 in our Razer Seiren V3 Chroma review, you can pick it up for $92.99 in Black or White, and for $99.99 in Quartz Pink, down from $129.99 via this link. They’re both great microphones, so there is no bad choice.
