One of the biggest complaints that most MMO fans raise, especially in the case of mobile titles, is the feature that plays the game for you, letting gamers set their character off to auto-grind while they handle other responsibilities. If that kind of thing raises your hackles, then you might want to ignore Dominus Automa, a developing MMORPG from indie studio Metashift Labs where auto-play is the only play.
Dominus Automa is an automated multiplayer RPG created for players who love depth but no longer have time for traditional grinding. Your character lives on the server around the clock, acting according to strategy and priorities.
Dominus places its level of depth solely on the levels of control that players have in setting up their character’s automated routines, managing combat style, priorities, reactions to danger, and long-term goals, whether its farming monsters or resources. The game also touts a player-driven economy with plenty of crafting and gathering, and automation can be changed on the fly.
While the game has no release date yet, it has held a public playtest last November and is planning another test this May to specifically test out its multiplayer functionality, along with a hub city and AFK progression. Information on how to sign up for testing is found in the official Discord, while the game is on Steam for wishlisting and following.
