Traditional Guild Wars turned 20 years previous this previous spring with all of the hoopla the beloved franchise deserved – and even a smol replace too. However apparently, ArenaNet and mates weren’t happy with that as a result of now, it’s getting much more love within the type of a free replace and remaster that bundles all the campaigns collectively right into a SteamDeck-verified, controller-friendly bundle (free in the event you personal the sport, $20 in case you are shopping for contemporary).

“This new and improved Guild Wars expertise is not only restricted to controller enter choices; the replace may also enhance in-game performance by including high-DPI help for contemporary high-resolution displays, new HD talent icons, rendering enhancements together with new antialiasing choices, ambient occlusion, enhanced bloom, extra font dimension choices for sport textual content, enhanced 3D environmental audio, and a brand new quest-tracker that may assist gamers navigate to their subsequent journey on their monitor or TV.”

Word that the PR mentions Prophecies, Factions, and Dusk, however not Eye of the North – we’ve requested whether or not that’s an oversight within the copy or intentional and can replace after we know for certain.

Apparently this complete factor is a “co-development initiative between ArenaNet and companion studio 2weeks, who had been fashioned in 2024 from former ArenaNet workers who had been excited to return to the franchise after a 15-year break.” ArenaNet’s Stephen Clarke-Willson, who’s been the chief caretaker of the MMORPG for years now, stays sport director.
