Finding ranger station locations in Grounded 2 might not be essential, but it certainly makes surviving in the park a lot easier. Not only are some of these areas safe and convenient areas to build a base, but you’ll almost always find something useful inside, from food and a water cooler to strong weapons and consumables.
Below, we’ve listed all Grounded 2 ranger station locations, how to find them, and what to expect when you get there.
All Grounded 2 ranger station locations
If you’re ever unsure where a ranger station might be, look for a copper water pump towering over the landscape. There’s one near every outpost, and you can open Grounded 2‘s photo mode, unlock the camera, and zoom out if you can’t see it through the grass. You’ll find a drop of dew under the spout on most mornings, so if you set up a base near an outpost, that’s your daily water supply sorted.
Most ranger stations north of the snackbar have O.R.C. guards of some description, so if you want to make any of them a location for your base, make sure it’s far enough away to avoid attracting unwanted attention.
Snackbar ranger station
This outpost is the first you’ll find, and it’s impossible to miss, since Sloane Beaumont sends you there as part of the initial set of story quests. It sits in a convenient little pocket, tucked away from most things that want to hurt you (although Orb Weaver Jrs and spiderlings frequent the areas behind the outpost where you’ll find acorn shells and to the south), so it makes an excellent spot for your first base.
There’s also a small selection of edible mushrooms to the north, and it’s a frequent highway for weevils, another easy source of early-game food.
Trash Bags ranger station
The trash bags station sits just beyond the snackbar’s northern edge, right when you can start to see the hedge where lingonberries grow. In our experience, there’s usually at least one O.R.C. enemy guarding the door, so make sure you bring your buggy along for some combat help if you’re playing solo.
Pine Hill ranger station
The pine tree station is just west of the picnic table’s northwestern corner, near a ledge with mushrooms growing under it and roots dangling from the top. It’s a little haven, a respite from a region filled with spiders, though there is an O.R.C. Orb Weaver just a little ways along the path outside it. You’ll also find plenty of pine needles nearby.
Fire Pit ranger station
This one is on the other side of the giant rock, west of the Yoked Girth Magazine point of interest, and it’s in a pretty dangerous spot. An O.R.C. roach and several roach nymphs are guarding it, and an Orb Weaver that’s far too eager to join the fight lurks nearby as well. (If this is your first full-grown roach encounter, be aware that it revives after death, its head falls off, and it rushes around spewing bug juice and lashing out with its front legs until you kill it again.)
Ice Cream Cart ranger station
The ice cream cart station is in a comparatively tranquil area just outside the cart’s frosty domain and conveniently positioned near the berry patch where you’ll find blueberries for leather and a ready supply of bees for harvesting fuzz.
Ceremony ranger station
You’ll find this one east of the Headless BURG.L statue point of interest, nestled under a bit of rock. More O.R.C. Orb Weavers patrol this area, so be on your guard as you approach.
Statue ranger station
Further east in the ceremony region is the statue outpost, though reaching it is a bit of a chore in the early access launch version. It’s on a ridge of land overlooking a little swamp area, but because the park’s current border runs just beside and behind it, the only way up is further north, along a little pathway that’s roughly even with the electrical outlet box. Orb Weavers call this area home, and an O.R.C. mosquito is waiting in front of the outpost door.
Flower Bed ranger station
Reaching this one takes a lot more effort than the others. The only way to climb the statue base is via a hidden passage underneath it. Enter the piece of piping at either end of the steps on your buggy, via the entrances marked in red on the map image above, and deal with the O.R.C. larva inside. The path branches in the middle, and at the end of it is a stinkbug superboss whom you can safely ignore for now.
Rush past the bug, and have your buggy gnaw through the roots on your left. The outpost door is locked, and there’s no way to unlock it from this side. Behind the roots is a tunnel that leads you up to the flower bed — or, more accurately, a labyrinthine path through the stonework. Follow this path, defeating or ignoring the bugs you encounter along the way, and it’ll finally dump you out into the flower bed proper.
The station is tucked into the stonework on the northwestern side of the flower bed, guarded by an O.R.C. northern scorpion. Inside, you’ll also find a SCA.B 2.0 device you can use to unlock the flower bed station’s back door, which is in the northeastern corner of the grass games region.
Rose Garden ranger station
It’s mandatory that you have a torch to see where you’re going in the rose garden.
Before you get started, hop or climb down what looks like a well in the center of the flower bed, and take the pneumatic lift inside. It’ll spit you out in another outpost room, and at the end of it is another SCA.B 2.0 device. Interact with it to unlock the door behind the stinkbug. This isn’t mandatory, though, so you can also just ignore it.
Anyway, when you’re ready, ignore the hedge entrance in the middle of the row, the one a scorpion is guarding, and make your way to the south. In the corner, you’ll see another entrance into the hedge, this one unguarded by any foes. Head inside, and light your torch. To the right, it looks like the branch pathway leads to a dead end, but keep walking ahead and you’ll eventually enter the rose garden. (The entrance is before the glob of raw science, so if you collect the glob, you’ve gone too far).
Straight ahead of you is the water pump, the outpost, and an O.R.C. bee. A praying mantis nymph is also waiting for you on a leaf above the outpost, so make sure you’re prepared for battle or just run inside immediately.
There may be other methods of reaching the rose garden, but this is how we did it.
Park Bench ranger station
This one was added in the Toxic Tangle update’s slight extension to the Grass Games region, and as the name suggests, it’s under the park bench — which makes it harder to miss than most, since the bench towers over everything. There’s an O.R.C. stinkbug guarding the entrance, though its weaknesses are the same as the standard stinkbug’s. Bring along a gas mask if you plan on getting close or a Glacial Sting rod to fling fresh attacks at it from a distance.
Veggie Garden ranger station
This one is roughly in the center of the Veggie Garden, west of the chard patch where you find ladybug eggs and a little east of the Hammer point of interest. An O.R.C. rust beetle guards the entrance, but if you avoid the tang puddles it produces, you should be able to take it down quickly. There are also a fair few potato beetles around here, so take one or two down to get the materials you need to upgrade your Omni-Tool’s hatchet.
Greenhouse ranger station
This region’s ranger station is right next to the greenhouse’s eastern side, north of the fertilizer sacks. An O.R.C. potato beetle is waiting outside. Unlike its normal counterparts, this one is aggressive and will attack when it notices your presence.
Pumpkin Patch ranger station
The Pumpkin Patch station is just east of the raised bed and northeast of the big tangle of pumpkins. This time, you’ll find an O.R.C. mantis nymph waiting outside, so bring some fresh weapons or mint arrows along to make short work of it.
