Finding Resident Evil Requiem‘s blood specimens is technically optional, but it’s worth tracking them down and dealing with the dangers around them. Blood specimens unlock new crafting recipes, and some of them, like the steroid injector, are literal game changers. Two of the specimens are behind doors that require security access to open, and one of them puts you in a bit of danger as well.
Below, we show you where to find all Resident Evil Requiem blood specimen locations and what crafting recipes they unlock. If you’re getting lost and confused in the care center or elsewhere, keep our Resident Evil Requiem interactive map handy to help show you the way.
Denatured blood specimen location
The denatured blood specimen is in the blood lab in the East Wing of the Care Center. You’ll end up here during Grace’s first visit to the wing and will pick up the blood collector on the desk just inside the lab. Requiem then directs you to the blood analysis machine, next to which is the denatured blood specimen. Grab the specimen, scan it with the machine, and complete the puzzle.
Grace can then craft handgun ammo (which is usable with both of her handguns and is shared between the two) and hemolytic injectors. Grace can use hemolytic injectors to instantly kill enemies who aren’t aware of her presence, and she can also use them on inanimate corpses to prevent them from transforming into blister heads.
Reversible blood specimen location
After leaving the blood lab, Grace will end up on the care center’s second floor and can grab the ID wristband that lets her unlock security level 1 doors. Return to the Blood Lab. Bear in mind that there will be new zombies in the east wing at this point, and Chunk will be roaming around. You’ll need to move about carefully.
Once you’re in the Blood Lab, open the security lock and enter the storage room. Inside is an empty injector, some metal scraps, a green herb, and the reversible blood specimen. This one lets Grace craft steroids (for health upgrades) and stabilizers (for increased damage). Both require empty injectors, so you can put the one you just grabbed to good use.
Converged blood specimen location
The third blood specimen is also in the East Wing, but it’s a bit trickier to get. There’s a security level 1 door in the East Wing Waiting Room, which is also where a zombie cleaner and a noise-sensitive zombie patient happen to be. You can handle this in a couple of ways. The first is to make a noise by the cleaner, which will then provoke the patient into attacking her. If you remain out of sight, they won’t realize you made the noise, and the patient will finish the cleaner off for you. That leaves just one zombie to deal with.
Alternatively, you could break a vase at the south end of the Waiting Room, then unlock the security door, run into the closet, and deal with them both in there once they shuffle in. In our experience, this has the added benefit of keeping them from transforming into blister heads when you return to the Waiting Room during a later segment, though whether that was intentional design or a bug, we can’t say for sure.
Anyway, the specimen is on a table in the closet, and once you analyze it, you can craft med injectors and 12.7×55 gun ammo (that’s for the Requiem).
While you’ll get ID bands for security level 2 and level 3 doors later, there are no more specimens behind them. These three are the only three blood specimens in the Care Center.
