If you tried the limited-time alpha for Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember and came away whelmed, Team Ninja has heard your feedback. A new report outlined improvements, including unifying the Insight Jump and Insight Aerial Skill against Critical Blows (rather than separating them, like the demo).
The developer is also increasing the timing windows for deflects and Insight Skills, improving Insight Jump’s homing performance for locked-on enemies, and making it easier to fight airborne enemies in general with improved homing and range for aerial attacks. You’ll also be able to cast Wizardry Spells and switch weapons while airborne. Critical Blows will also have improved visibility, and certain flying enemies won’t move out of range of your attacks.
While this is all well and good, performance could also use some major finessing. Thankfully, Team Ninja is optimizing the frame rate, reducing Fast Travel and respawn load times, and even addressing model pop-in. You can also expect better lighting quality and some brightness changes for Demonic Qi and fire effects.
When can players try all these changes? The developer hasn’t said, but given its tendency to release another demo before launch, you probably won’t have to wait long.
Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember launches on March 4th, 2027, for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.
