Continuing to detail the different eras and locations of Stranger Than Heaven, RGG Studio has shone a light on Minami, Osaka, in 1943. As a period of “immense turmoil,” especially with World War 2 ongoing, modern architecture and contemporary trends dominate. But while the people are being exposed to new cultures, language and expression are facing increasing scrutiny.
This seems at odds with the rise of show business. The latest trailer highlights a theater, one of the largest in the city, but there are several others. As much as the glamor and glitz excite people, competition is pretty fierce. Naturally, Makoto Daito will be in the thick of it as a showman who organizes musical performances.
However, it’s also worth noting the backstreets and alleys, where you’ll find various vendors selling all kinds of goods. At least one is about weapons, so this may be a place Makoto frequents to ensure he’s properly armed at all times.
Launching on January 15th, 2027, for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC, Stranger Than Heaven follows him across five different eras. Two more remain to be showcased: Atami in the Shizuoka Prefecture in 1951 and Shinjuku, Tokyo in 1965. Stay tuned for more details, and hopefully, Sega will release the full, official version of the theme before long.
