A new teaser trailer has been released which gives a first look at gameplay from the upcoming VR/MR game Evangelion: Δ Cross Reflections.
Following the game’s latest preview event in San Francisco, California, its developers have released new footage of Evangelion: Δ Cross Reflections. The new trailer shows off pre-release footage, including some extremely strange elements.

Evangelion: Δ Cross Reflections is the first installment in a planned trilogy that aims to cover all 26 episodes of the TV series. The immersive action-adventure will tell a new story from the perspective of an original protagonist who dreams of becoming a pilot, making connections between the anime’s “key episodes” and the game’s new characters.
“Players will enjoy the story set in the locations from the anime from their own perspective. Battles between Evangelions and Angels, various interactive elements, and engaging captivating storylines with original characters are also planned,” Pixelity noted in a press release.
The new footage looks undeniably cool, though the “Pre-release footage. Final Product may differ” disclaimer gives pause. This, combined with some unusual footage, makes me question what this game/experience is all about. (Had you given me 100 chances to guess what we’d see in this trailer prior to viewing, interactive hedge-trimming in front of an onlooking Rei Ayanami would not have made the list.)
I like weird stuff, though, so I’m very interested to see more.
If you’re interested, too, and you happen to live in or are visiting Frankfurt, Germany in the near future, you’ll have a chance to attend the game’s next preview event. Previous hands-on events have been held in Japan and, most recently, in San Francisco, California.
