Earlier this week, we noted how Valofe was planning to bring back the pet taming MMORPG Riders of Icarus back from the dead, with a full announcement teased for today, September 10th. Sure enough, this one is being revived as Icarus Online, and it’s making its return a bit sooner than one might think.
The MMO is set to come back online this fall with development handled by Valofe and publishing from GOP Co. Ltd. The game will be free-to-play with a cash shop, though what the items in question are weren’t specified. The game’s site and an FAQ do fill in some additional blanks, including confirmation of eight total classes, adjustments to creature types and abilities, tweaks to dungeon rewards, word of a season pass, and confirmation that players are going to have to start from the beginning. Later updates to the MMO promise additional dungeons, level cap raises, gear, and zones.
Icarus Online is currently holding a pre-registration campaign between now and when the game officially opens, which also adds players’ name to the draw for a closed beta test that will run between September 29th and October 5th. Those who want to kick this one’s tires will need to sign up for an account either via Pmang of VFUN platforms.
