EA Sports FC 27 FUT Details Revealed With New Deep Dive

As we get closer to the September 25th release of EA Sports FC 27, Electronic Arts has provided more details about the upcoming football game’s Ultimate Team mode. In a lengthy deep dive post, the company has outlined new features, like the FUT Gallery, as well as how older features, like SBCs, will be evolving. Accompanying the post is a new trailer that you can check out below.

Kicking things off, the FUT Gallery has been designed to allow players to have a way to track their achievements throughout the game mode. This includes the ability to create records of Player Items that pass through your club. Along with simply being a form of record-keeping, FUT Gallery also offers new progression paths, giving players another way to earn more rewards.

The core of the feature is the idea of the Gallery Sets that focus on a variety of themes, like Nations, Leagues, Clubs, and Campaigns. Completing a Gallery Set gives you a grade dependent on the items that were added to it. This means that higher OVR and special versions of Player Items will contribute to your grade to a greater degree, and better grades mean better rewards. Completing a Gallery Set contributes to your overall Gallery level, with each level rewarding players with things like cosmetics, Gallery Tokens, and more.

One of the design goals with the FUT Gallery seems to have been to offer players a nicer look at how well their team has performed so far. The gallery itself will be an actual location with 3D objects accumulating over time, and in turn, giving players a way to reflect on their journey so far.

When it comes to SBCs, EA Sports FC 27 will feature a new way to complete them. This means that certain SBC types, like Player and Upgrade SBCs, will be faster to complete. “The goal is not to remove meaningful decisions,” explains the company, “but to reduce repetitive friction around completing them.” Rather than building a full squad around concepts like Chemistry, position, or a squad overall rating requirements, players will instead see eligible items from their Club and can pick which ones they want to submit. Doing so contributes to a score based on its overall rating and rarity based on the same scoring system as FUT Gallery.

Some of the other refinements coming to FUT with EA Sports FC 27 include more player choice and better planning tools when it comes to Evolutions with the inclusion of the Pathways feature. This means that, rather than going all-in on a single fixed path, Evolutions can now offer multiple options. For example, one option could improve a player’s dribbling and add a PlayStyle, while another might improve their defensive ratings. Players will also get ways to observe Evolution chains.

EA Sports FC 27’s take on FUT will now include a new way for players to check out what kinds of events will be taking place in the game mode through the Campaign Hub. This includes new objectives, SBCs, Live Events, and more. Speaking of which, Live Events will now include new single-player options where players can take on AI opponents.

The football game is being developed for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and the Switch 2. For more details, check out how the new career mode will introduce changes over its predecessor.
