We’re nearly halfway through the year, but there are still plenty of VR games to look forward to before year’s end.

While some may be tolling the death knells of VR (once again), the rest of us will be busy playing some genuinely exciting games this year from new and veteran VR studios alike.

Note: If you don’t see your most anticipated VR game on the list, let us know in the comments below.

At least for now, our list is still a little thin on PSVR 2 titles. As it goes, developers seem to be prioritizing Quest and PC VR releases, and then offering up PSVR 2 support post launch. We will be updating periodically, so check back soon.

Confirmed for 2026 Release

Omega Pilot Evolution (Quest, PSVR 2)

XOCUS is releasing a sequel to futuristic racing game Omega Pilot (2022), bringing another heaping dose of Wipeout-style gameplay. You’ll be able to race solo or compete against real players in asynchronous and real-time multiplayer modes, customize your ship’s design and performance, and secure your place on the leaderboards.

Omega Pilot Evolution is set to launch on Quest and PSVR 2 sometime in June 2026.

PAYDAY Aces High (Quest, PC VR)

Starbreeze Entertainment is working with Fast Travel Games on PAYDAY: Aces High, an officially licensed VR co-op heist game set in the PAYDAY universe. That means plenty of blasting, heisting, and VR-native co-op action coming your way.

No precise launch date yet, although you can find it over on SteamVR and Quest, marked as coming in Q3 2026. PSVR 2 support still isn’t confirmed, but we’re keeping our eyes peeled.

Knights of Fiona (Quest, PC VR)

Ruinsmagus (2022) studio CharacterBank Inc is offering up another JRPG VR action-adventure with Knights of Fiona, which promises both solo and co-op play with a fellow knight at your side. Set in Gallia, a land where thoughts become power, you join a new order of Knights to fight for a future nobody else believes is possible. Or whatever that means. It’s honestly difficult to care too much about narrative specifics when a VR game looks this good.

Knights of Fiona is confirmed to launch sometime this year on Quest and SteamVR headsets.

EXOSHOCK (Quest, PC VR)

Exoshock is a 1-4 co-op PvE shooter built for VR from the ground-up, featuring intense firefights, squad tactics, and dynamic battlefields. It’s already making splashes though since it’s technically already available the early (early) access via a ‘Founders Edition’.

That said, the full game hasn’t rolled out to SteamVR and Quest officially yet, which all indications point to a 2026 launch.

The Lightkeepers (Quest)

From Spectral Games, the creators of Medieval Dynasty New Settlement (2025), comes The Lightkeepers, an action-adventure co-op game that will have you exploring the area by sailing to nearby islands, plundering forgotten buildings, and discovering secrets hidden in dark dungeons.

The Lightkeepers is set to launch on Quest sometime in Q3 2026.

“Coming Soon” (2026 and beyond)

Hot Dogs, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades 2 (PC VR, Quest)

Hot Dogs, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades was the pioneering VR shooting game that really kept on giving, supported by the seemingly indefatigable Rust Ltd for the past 10 years. But now it’s time for a fresh take on the range-plinking, Frankfurter-slaying franchise, which in its sequel it going to become a “full fledged” extraction shooter.

There’s no real release window yet, although you can wishlist it on SteamVR and Quest in the meantime.

Remnant Protocol (PC VR, Quest)

Progenitor Game Studios revealed Remnant Protocol nearly three years ago, although late last year the new VR indie announced its space flight sim was launching into early access in March 2026. That didn’t happen, as the studio announced it had to delay due to unforseen issues.

Still, according to Kickstarter updates, it seems there’s no indication to worry that the project isn’t still alive and kicking. In the meantime, you can wishlist for SteamVR and Quest.

Eldramoor: Haven in the Mist (PC VR, Quest)

Eldramoor: Haven in the Mist just launched its alpha to Kickstarter backers, serving up the first taste of what the upcoming MMORPG has to offer. Although the first ‘M’ in MMO could be a tough nut to crack, it’s supposed to be heading into open beta later this year.

That said, it’s not certain where developer Resolute Games is on its journey to full release, which was previously aiming for launch in December 2026. Whatever the case, we’ll have our eyes peeled on Kickstarter updates in the meantime.

POSTAL 2 VR (PC VR, Quest, PSVR 2)

POSTAL 2 VR is another Flat2VR port that promises to bring the classic 2003 sandbox shooter properly to VR for the first time. Even though it’s being developed in parallel to the upcoming Redux flatscreen version, the VR port is most definitely going to be a product of its time, promising to bring its distinctly early ’00s brand of dark humor as you blast, chop and piss your way through a freakshow of American caricatures.

You can wishlist Postal 2 VR for SteamVR, Quest, and PSVR 2, but just don’t say we didn’t warn you.

Dice Throne Digital (Quest)

The official digital adaptation of the hit board game Dice Throne is coming, promising a fast-paced 1v1 combat game of intriguing dice, tactical card play, and unique heroes. It’s targeting everything, including VR headsets, which is cool.

That said, the only headset confirmed right now is Quest, although the game promises to allow cross-play with iOS, Android, and Steam.

Panoptic II (PC VR, Quest)

Panopticon II is the hotly awaited follow-up to the 2020 original, which brings an asymmetrical multiplayer game of hide-and-seek. The game pits four tiny Challengers on flatscreen against the giant Overseer in VR, which is armed with deadly lasers capable of roasting the pint-sized challengers alive.

There’s no release window yet, although game coming to SteamVR and Quest for the Overseer, and on PC and possibly also mobile for flatscreen players.

These are only a fraction of the games coming out this year. Let us know in the comments what we missed, what everyone should be looking forward to!
