In a new video, prominent Ubisoft leaker xj0nathan has revealed quite a few details about the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe, along with a screenshot from the title. The screenshot itself is quite dark and doesn’t reveal too much. However, the leaker has shown off another version of the same screenshot, but upscaled and brightened up through an AI tool.

This second screenshot reveals quite a bit of information, including the fact that the protagonist will seemingly have access to the iconic hidden blade. Along with this, the character, clad in a dark version of the Assassin’s Creed robe, also seems adept at moving through forests by jumping on tree branches. While both versions of the image have since been deleted from xj0nathan’s social media accounts, Reddit users have managed to grab backups.

Among the details revealed by the leaker is the fact that Ezio—who was rumored to be returning in some form for Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe—is likely only going to show up through Isu technology or a memory disc. He has also made note of another assassin character, Wolfgang, who will seemingly be morally grey and controversial, and will serve as a mentor to Anika in the earlier parts of the game’s story. xj0nathan describes Anika’s relationship to Ezio and Wolfgang as being that of a “good cop” and a “bad cop” respectively.

As for Anika, the character’s last name is believed to be Adler, and her outfit will include classic Assassin’s Creed-styled hooded robes, as well as an assortment of witch-themed outfits.

Some more details about Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe were leaked by Rogue Tx earlier this week, including transcriptions of some of the in-game voice lines, as well as the fact that the protagonist will be named Anika. The leaker had also indicated that Anika would be a descendant of Claudia Auditore and that the game would be primarily set in Wurzburg, Germany.

The presence of Ezio was indicated thanks to one of Anika’s lines, where she says, “That white hood, it’s like the one in my mother’s drawing.” Ezio also seemingly has voice lines, like “She wanted you to have a life,” and “Come. Leap with me. One last time for an old man.” He also reportedly says, “They always fear what they cannot control. They called us demons once, too. But remember, Elsa: ‘Nulla è reale, tutto è lecito.” The last one indicates that Ezio will serve as a major mentor figure for Anika.

While the development of Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe has likely been a tumultuous one, especially with Ubisoft having gone through its major restructuring, the company has said that changes in its development team are a “standard part of how we operate.”

“As project priorities change, team members may transition from one project to another where their expertise is needed, helping us stay flexible and responsive as work evolves,” said a spokesperson for the company.

It is worth noting that recent reports have indicated that 50 developers have seemingly left the project, and the game has even lost its creative director, Clint Hocking, and game director, Benoit Richer.
