Control Resonant Reaffirmed for 2026, Remedy Committed to Delivering A “Must-Have Day-One Purchase”

While Control and Alan Wake 2 continue to perform well for Remedy Entertainment, all eyes are on Control Resonant. And for good reason – as an open-ended game with expanded action RPG elements and the company’s biggest gameplay team in history, it’s easily their most ambitious title yet.

CEO Jean-Charles Gaudechon is aware of this, and in the recent Business Review for the first quarter of 2026, he said, “We remain committed to our goal of making the game a ‘must-have day-one purchase’ for the fans of Control and for gamers worldwide.” He also cited a “lot of interest” from its announcement last December. “We expect the momentum to intensify leading up to the launch. Leading indicators are on track for us to reach this goal.”

If that’s not reassuring enough, Gaudechon added, “I play the game regularly; the gameplay and overall feel are coming together, and I am confident we have a strong product at hand.” It’s good news for Remedy, which has begun the year with a profitable first quarter.

While a release date wasn’t mentioned, Remedy is “on track for our 2026 launch.” “Our marketing activities and related spend will significantly intensify prior to the launch of the game.” Of course, this will likely follow the reveal of the release date rather than providing any hint towards its announcement.

Regardless, the excitement is palpable. At six-plus-million copies sold, Control is a huge hit for Remedy, and Resonant builds off it in several exciting ways. The first is the new protagonist, Dylan Faden, who employs a mix of telekinetic powers and close-quarters combat, aided by the shapeshifting Aberrant.

Then there’s Manhattan, a complete inversion of The Oldest House’s isolated corridors, where paranatural horrors run wild. It’s up to Dylan to defeat the Resonants and restore order to the city with the FBC’s help, and maybe find his sister along the way.

Control Resonant is coming to Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Head here to see it in action.
