Another baby gacha game turtle has made it to the waters of full release. Hotta Studios’ confoundingly named Neverness to Everness has made its official global launch as promised, bringing the urban setting of anime waifus and anomalous threats to PC via direct download or Google Play Games, iOS, Android, and PlayStation 5.
As detailed in a lengthy showcase video, NTE casts players as Esper Zero and places them in the city of Hethereau, where they join with a group of powerful agents to maintain the balance between reality and anomaly, along with plenty of more laid-back activities like side jobs, housing, and going on dates with favorite companions.
To mark the launch, Hotta kicked off a giant list of events and also handed out a new special code to redeem among several others. The devs also thanked players for their feedback and confirmed another gaggle of rewards being handed out, including a stack of annulith premium currency and an S-class standard character selection box.
As far as reaction to the game goes, that seems to be somewhat mixed, as replies on Twitter and threads on Reddit point out bugs and crashes, share the speed with which they were arrested by in-game police, spread memes like butter, and otherwise share some overall enjoyment. It’s a little all over the place for a game that also looks a little all over the place.
