Rebel Wolves has been teasing something for The Blood of Dawnwalker – its latest tweet claims it’s “one step closer to something extraordinary.” A new gameplay showcase could be on the horizon, and it may include a release date, especially as studio CEO and creative lead Konrad Tomaszkiewicz revealed that he finished the game on PS5.

“Right now we are in the situation where consoles are stable, it works really well, and we are going to the certification,” he told Chris Dring of The Game Business. “We are quite confident to go there because we know how the game works, and I already finished the game on the PS5, and it’s great, you know.”

After Dring joked about the need to be careful not to leave an AI voice in lest they have an award taken off, Tomaszkiewicz responded, “We already have everything recorded for some time, and right now we are doing only fixes of some lines which were wrong, but there is no AI.”

The only thing that could be considered AI-like is a “system” that checks the team’s implementation of quests and dialogue to ensure there aren’t blockers. It’s a tool to help QA with what Tomaszkiewicz calls “one of our biggest problems.” “There were so many choices in the consequences that sometimes it was hard to test all of them.”

Along with PS5, The Blood of Dawnwalker is in development for Xbox Series X/S and PC, and while Rebel Wolves hasn’t offered any hints at the release date, it is coming this year. The last showcase offered an in-depth look at the differences between day and night gameplay for a quest. The former involved facing a botched vampire to gain access to the library to locate a crypt.

However, players could also use their abilities to sneak in at night to obtain the information. It’s one of the many choices inherent throughout the experience, especially as you decide how to spend the limited time available. Stay tuned for more updates, and in the meantime, check out Tomaszkiewicz’s feelings about The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt comparisons.
