Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown Team Has Reunited, Pitching New Game Ideas – Rumor

It was a sad day when the development team behind Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown was disbanded and shifted to other projects. The side-scrolling Metroidvania received extensive critical acclaim (we gave it a nine out of ten), but after launching in January 2024, it reportedly sold only one million units by October.

However, the sequel dream may not be quite dead. “Little birds” allegedly told Gauthier ‘Gautoz’ Andres of independent French outlet Origami that Ubisoft has given the “green light” to the core team’s reunion. They’re apparently pitching game ideas, and while there aren’t any further details, you can’t help but hope that we’re reunited with Saigon.

Why the sudden shift? It may be related to Ubisoft’s internal reshuffle, which resulted in the formation of several Creative Houses with their own dedicated heads. While Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake was cancelled, perhaps the publisher saw the positive response with The Lost Crown and thought it was worth pursuing.

After all, it eventually managed to cross three million players last year following its addition to PlayStation Plus’s Game Catalog, and that number may be even higher thanks to Game Pass. Again, this report is no guarantee that Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is getting a sequel, but even if it doesn’t, it’s good to see the team reunited.

Un an et demi après cette vidéo youtu.be/8HgkIyq0emY, des petits oiseaux me glissent que la core team Prince of Persia The Lost Crown a reçu le feu vert d’Ubisoft pour se reformer et pitcher des idées de jeux.Je n’en sais pas plus et je ne veux pas, laissons-les cook 💜
