We might have known that a console launch was coming for the multiplayer survival sandbox ICARUS, but all that was known at the time was that it would be sometime early this year. Well, that time is now, as ICARUS: Console Edition has indeed released this week to grant PlayStation 5 and Xbox gamers the opportunity to experience the “uncompromising PvE experience” for themselves.
As we’ve reported before, this console version packs in the base game and the New Frontiers expansion but not the Dangerous Horizons expansion. Still, that offers over 128 square kilometers to explore across two maps, six biomes full of dangerous flora and fauna, and plenty of story content for one to four players to experience.
The console edition comes in two price points: a standard edition that’s $40 and an ultimate edition priced at $140 that also packs in the Styx region and a whole bunch of cosmetics. Either way, welcome to the punishing planet, console fans.
