There are things that are better than existing very good games getting multiplayer functionality, but very good games getting multiplayer functionality does sort of rule. Case in point? Nightmare Reaper, a very fun boomer shooter with roguelike elements that you should really already own, now has four-player co-op through its campaign. It’s even on sale for a limited time in celebration of that co-op, so if you’ve never heard of it before now you have a heck of a fun game to play now. (It’s relevant to note that this writer pushed for Nightmare Reaper to be flagged as one of the top games of 2022.)

Why, Teardown has also gotten a multiplayer mode added, and by “a multiplayer mode” we actually mean several different multiplayer modes in the game’s existing chaotic voxel atmosphere. There’s even a full development blog on how the studio conceived of multiplayer antics from deathmatches to sandbox gameplay and the struggles involved, so you can read that while waiting for your friends to get online. You have several options to unleash chaos, in other words.
