Arcany is a fascinating little project we only started to hear about last fall, when we covered this upcoming MMORPG that’s being developed by a husband-and-wife dev team. Since then, there has been some interesting evolutions of the game, starting with the fact that it’s now free-to-play to anyone curious and interested in this pixelart game world.

The devs invited players to try it, saying, “It is a cozy MMORPG with bullet-hell-style combat and colorful pixel art graphics, featuring horizontal progression across five skills and challenges, and allowing players to create their own maps. There are already quests, a dungeon, cinematics, bosses, time trials, achievements, and world events!”

Arcany posted its 2026 roadmap, which is separated into “Seasons” that include story chapters, new regions, cosmetics, and pets. A Steam release for the title currently is planned for July.
