Who’s ready for another PvPvE extraction title? Because that’s the new thing that Gaijin Entertainment and developer Targem Games is offering in the form of Star Wrath, which puts players into spaceships to harvest resources and… the DNA of slain enemies. Ew.
“In Star Wrath, players build and customize modular spacecraft, head out on high‑risk raids, battle in PvE and PvP encounters, and fight to escape with whatever loot they can carry,” the studios write. “Every expedition is a gamble: hide in deadly nebulae, ambush unsuspecting rivals, and survive intense dogfights powered by realistic physics and an advanced damage system. Every ship part — from hulls to internal modules — can be destroyed, affecting performance and survivability in real time.”
Character progression is literally in their DNA, as players can harvest traits from defeated enemies and combine them to make their own pilots stronger, though that also means that if they’re taken down out in space, than the victorious can harvest their beneficial boons. Players can otherwise find resources for their ship builds, which are clapped together with various modules.
Closed beta testing for the game officially kicked off this week, with signups to be chosen for the test available via a Gaijin.net account or granted immediately through the purchase of one of five cash bundles because of course you can. Assuming buying to test a beta isn’t an immediate non-starter, a gameplay trailer can be seen below.
