Soloria, the ‘fake massively multiplayer offline roleplaying game,’ now has a playable demo

Over the past couple of months we’ve kept an eye on Soloria, a self-described “fake massively multiplayer offline roleplaying game” being created by a former Dungeons & Dragons Online developer, though news has been extremely sporadic, with the latest peep being a teaser trailer posted earlier this month.

Well, there’s since been a bigger peep. A playable peep, in fact: The game now has a demo that curious fans can try. The demo provides a single map to explore with four area objectives and three events, six talent trees each with six of their own unique talents, and over 40 different items to find and equip, which should give a pretty fair assessment of what indie Skylark Studios is cobbling together. And while there aren’t many Steam user reviews (yet), the ones that have been posted are skewing positive.

Despite this being a demo, the devs have already put out a fixer-upper patch that addresses some feedback from players, while more is promised to come to the demo through the holiday season. For now, this latest attempt at recreating the MMORPG experience in single-player can now be tried out.
