It could be said that there’s an MMO out there for every personality and playstyle. So for those of you who’ve been looking for a MUD that plays a whole lot like one of those idle RPGs that’s all over the mobile landscape, Vanya has you covered.
This mostly text-based game (there are a few sprites, but you’ll need your imagination to do the heavy lifting) lets you select an activity for your character to do and then does that automatically for a while. You’ll need to sporadically monitor your progress — you lose all your loot if you let your lil adventurer die — and make a few other high-level choices now and then.
The Brazilian team behind Vanya claims that the title’s building up a sizable fan base with a recent achievement of 1,100 concurrency.
In an end-of-the-year post, the dev team listed a few upcoming projects and said, “Vanya is still very young, but it is already shaping into something unique. A browser-based idle MMORPG built step by step together with its community.”
