We’ve got another in-development MMORPG to report on, and this one is supposedly going to show off how AI-generated game dev can get the job done, if the developer’s claims are to be taken at any kind of face value. This is Epitome, a new MMORPG from Polish developer Epitome P.S.A. that’s promising “next-gen” features and rich characters and quests that are backed by AI generation.

“In Epitome, NPCs aren’t just background characters—they’re dynamic individuals powered by advanced AI who adapt to your choices, shaping the narrative as you explore. Every decision you make, whether good or bad, sends ripples through the world. Choose not to help an NPC in need, and you might face unforeseen consequences down the road. Offer your assistance, and you could unlock secret alliances, rare rewards, or even new challenges. Your actions don’t just influence how NPCs see you—they shape how the entire world evolves.”

The studio claims this AI generation system allows players to engage in dynamic conversations about game topics (never mind that gamers always immediately vault that fence), negotiate for better quest rewards, and receive personalized advice from NPCs.

Beyond LLM characters and quests, there are a couple of other potential warning flags for players. First, the game claims that its “next gen” server tech can accommodate over 33,000 players in a single instance without sharding, all in a game powered by Unreal Engine 5.6. Second, the title will apparently require Kickstarter money; how much isn’t specified yet, as the drive won’t begin until January 2026. That same Kickstarter page also details further AI-powered ambitions, including companion characters that will grow alongside players, assassin guilds, and bounty hunters that can be paid off.

In terms of what is complete now, Epitome apparently features four classes, one large map with two main cities and four biomes, gameplay that goes up to level 20, hundreds of monsters and mini-bosses to fight, and over 70 items to gather, all of which will apparently be playable with thanks to the studio putting forth some of its own money and the backing of “a few early believers who invested in [its] vision.”

The studio aims the full game to feature eight more maps, a soft level cap to 99, and an “open world with globe simulation” that has three different layers to it. Later additions promise a taming system, pets, polymorphing, dungeons, “aquatic and aerial updates,” and world bosses among many, many other promises. To say that Epitome has lofty goals would certainly be an understatement, so bear that all in mind if you elect to follow this project.
